Here's one of my new skills - I can bring my fists up to my mouth and suck on them! They don't fly right by my face the way they used to. I still haven't figured out how to get the fingers out, or the thumb, but give me time!

Hey there! Aren't I super cute? My collar kept flipping up around my face and Daddy said I looked like William Shakespeare. I love my jeans, though - lots of pockets for all of my stuff!

Today was one of the first days that it was just me and Mommy. Since I sleep best when I'm being held by someone, Mommy put me in my sling so that she could do some other stuff than just hold me. (I think just holding me should be enough, but I guess everyone is different!) Today she tried doing something called spinning... I didn't get it, but she seemed to have fun!

Today I went on the Metro for the first time! It was kinda bumpy and noisy - just how I like it to lull me to sleep! But then I wake myself back up again - just in case there's something I'm missing.
We went to visit Daddy at his office, and also to say goodbye to Grandmother as she went to the airport. She'll be back again in 2 weeks, this time with Grandfather, too!

Evening playtime is fun! When I'm not fussing, I like to hang out on my mat and kick and kick! Sometimes I even coo.

This octopus guy is pretty cool - he plays music from his head. This was during my early morning kicking session - look at my feet and arms fly!

Day 42 - Six Weeks Old

Today was my 6-week check-up with my doctor. My stats: 9 lbs 12 oz (50th percentile), 22.25" long (75th percentile) I didn't mind most of it (OK, I cried when the nurse weighed and measured me, but that's just because I didn't know her). Except at the end, when they brought out something called a shot. That I did not like one bit!!! And it made me grumpy and fussy all evening.

Mommy and Daddy have recently got a book called "The Happiest Baby on the Block" and it says that I will like being swaddled and being in my swing. The book was right! I quieted down when they wrapped me in a blanket, and then I slept for 5 hours at a stretch in my swing. Thank goodness mommy and daddy are so smart, or it would have been one sleepless night with the way I was feeling!

Did you know that there are things up there? Birds, and leaves and butterflies. And they turn in circles and move up and down and stuff. It's pretty cool - I just noticed it.

Happy birthday to my aunt Jenna!Today was a strange day. I didn't do very much besides cry, eat, and sleep. In fact, this was the only picture that Mommy took all day (can you imagine?). Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

Hey, what's that furry thing? Just kidding - I'm not really focusing on him just yet (give me a few more days, though). But Linus really likes to check me out, from a distance of course. He's still not exactly sure just who (or what) I am. But he's nice to me or ignores me, and that's all that matters.

Day 31 - One Month Old!

Today my Grandmother arrived to play with me! She was supposed to come out earlier, but American Airlines cancelled her flights so she had to take the train. But she made it out for my one month birthday.

My last day with my Grandma... until we go visit her in May! I sure was sad that she had to go home.

Day 28 - Four Weeks Old

Sometimes I'm not too fond of my carseat. Usually it passes once we get in the car and get driving - then I fall asleep. On this day, I went with Mommy and Grandma to Annapolis to hear the Yarn Harlot speak. It was probably pretty funny, but I slept through the whole thing. She did put a knitting needle in my hand, so I can grow up to be a knitter too.
